Ontario's certified dental assistants are highly valued, essential members of the dental health team. They card about their profession, and most of all, about their patients.
The Ontario Dental Assistants Association (ODAA) is the certifying boyd and membership association supporting dental assistants (chairside assistants, intra-oral assistants, receptionists, practice managers and treatment coordinators) in Ontario.
We promote the profession. We certify our members. We lobby for regulation.
Nearly 8.000 members have voluntarily elected to join the ODAA to take advantage of the many benefits we offer them: certification, continuing education programs, wage negotiation support, professional advise and leadership, members-only discounts, ODAA Journal magazines, local affiliate meetings and province-wide seminars.
In addition, we are ardently lobbying to make dental assisting a regulated health profession recognized by the Ontario government. Regulation will mean that all dental assistants require formal training and certification. It will give our members the recognition and status they deserve. And it will provide patients with a new level of confidence in the dentist's chair.
